About the Hampshire Postal History Society

Our Journal

The Hampshire Postal History Society was established in 1989. The first issue of the Hampshire Post Journal was published in September 1989. Members were and are very willing to participate in supplying material to be included in the Journal and by doing so they are giving tremendous value and information that helps us all with our own collections. We like an article to emphasise any pictures that are included and to make use of the whole A4 format page, this ensures that there are no half blank pages. The current issues of the Hampshire Journal are printed in A4 format and are sent to Members by e-mail (preferred), but a few copies are sent by post which can be expensive but is usually covered by annual subscriptions.

Meetings

Member's meeting

Some of the Members of H.P.H.S. at meeting in the Community Centre at Sarisbury Green.

In the past meetings have been held at convenient places around Hampshire i.e. Winchester, Petersfield, Wickham and Sarisbury Green. We always hope to meet four times annually, but this is not always possible. Sarisbury Green is a much-favoured venue even though parking space is limited. Wickham is currently the venue for the HAMPEX convention where a meeting room is made available to us for our Annual General Meeting. At each of the Meetings Members are encouraged to bring along and display items of interest and give a short talk on their subject. These meetings are also open for discussions concerning Postal History as well as being a social event.

Hampshire Postal History Society is affiliated to Hampshire Philatelic Federation.
